What is near-infrared light therapy, and how does it benefit human health?
Light is a spectrum, and we can harness the power of different parts of that spectrum to benefit our bodies without damaging ourselves in the process. Red Light Therapy is one of the most effective treatment avenues for issues like fat loss, inflammation reduction, temporary relief of arthritis and muscle/joint pain, and increased local blood circulation. Based on over 50 years of research, our device was designed and developed with an elevated approach to Red Light Therapy. The Contour Light System was built with red light (635nm) with the added power of Near-Infrared Light Therapy (880nm). The innovative device was developed with combined light to affect the skin and the body on a deeper cellular level.
What is Near-Infrared Light Therapy Used For?
Like Red Light Therapy, Near-Infrared Light Therapy is a form of light therapy that affects the skin on a deep cellular level. While we use Near-Infrared Light in tandem with Red Light Therapy, the two have some differences. For instance, near-infrared light is invisible to the human eye and penetrates the skin on a deeper level than Red Light. Red Light penetrates the body at about 1/4”- 1/2”, while Near Infrared Light goes as deep as 1.5″-2 “ deep.
Near-Infrared Light Therapy is beneficial in the ATP production process and has been known to act as a support for wound healing, inflammation reduction, and lymphatic circulation.
Red light is amazing at treating skin issues, scarring, Acne, and Rosacea, reducing fine lines and wrinkles, and promoting the production of collagen and elastin. It helps the skin and supportive tissue to heal, smoothen and tighten.
Near-Infrared Light can get into the fat cells that are below the skin, along with the cells of our major organs (including the brain), muscles, and other connective tissue. Together, the Red Light helps restore the skin, while near-infrared light is doing the deep work of boosting the immune system, increasing blood flow, enlivening the cells in the blood, stimulating the lymphatic system to move and clean out the body of toxins, reducing inflammation, all while reminding the body to heal itself by stimulating the mitochondria, the engines of the cells and of the body overall. They work hand in hand.
By incorporating Red Light Therapy, which includes both Near-Infrared Light with Red Light, at your clinic, you’re offering an elevated approach to cellular regeneration.
The Technology of the Contour Light System
There’s more to a Red Light Therapy device than just the wavelengths of light. By using a Contour Light device, you are offering:
- Full-coverage and comfortable treatments
- Easy operation for practitioners
- Cutting edge advantage as research reveals more benefits of Red Light Therapy
The device utilizes a pad-based system that contours to a patient’s treatment area. The large, flexible pads are soft and comfortable while still holding high-powered, surface-mount microchip LEDs that emit combined red light and near-infrared light wavelengths.
Each pad is coated with a proprietary reflective coating that traps light that would otherwise bounce off the skin and dissipate. It’s then reflected back into the skin, resulting in a much higher retention of light energy than with other similar devices. Because this proprietary reflective coating is only available with Contour Light, no other LED pad-based system is available on the market that delivers and retains more therapeutic light energy.
Device Training and Operation
Operation for the Contour Light Red Light Therapy device is a breeze. You can learn how to operate your Contour Light System in a matter of minutes and with the push of a few buttons, you can start treatments.
No extensive training, licensing, or certification is required to operate our system. You can adjust the treatment time from 5 to 45 minutes, and a technician does not need to be present for the duration of the treatment.
Your practice will be able to expand as scientific developments determine new treatment benefits for Red Light Therapy. The Contour Light System was created as a base to incorporate more add-on accessories as they become available.
Applications of Red Light Therapy with Contour Light
Want to know what kind of services you can offer to boost your business? Due to the regenerative effects that Red Light and Near-Infrared Light Therapy have on the cells, there is a broad range of applications for the Contour Light System. This includes
- Body Contouring
